Health Center
Medical care at Westminster Village Muncie's Health Center is second to none.
State licensed for long term care and Medicare certified, the Health Center is staffed with medical professionals around-the-clock, providing an individual plan of care for each resident. It is our goal to ensure the highest possible quality of life for every resident in a comfortable and secure setting.
Comfortable and spacious private or semi-private suites are available, each with a nurse call system. Every room is individually temperature controlled. Security personnel are on duty at all times. The Health Center is also protected by an automatic sprinkler system, electronic heat and smoke detectors and an electronic security alarm system. Telephone, cable TV and computer hookups are available in each room. Personal items like furniture, bedspreads, wall hangings and curios that provide a touch of home are all welcome.
In addition to an on-site private physician, several local doctors make calls to the Health Center. A podiatrist, dentist, optometrist and geriatric psychiatrist are available as needed. If a trip to a doctor's office is required, transportation is available on one of our Village buses. Individualized physical, occupational and speech therapy programs are designed by one of our own licensed professionals.
A broad range of activities, entertainment programs, group projects and other special events are planned to meet the creative, recreational, social, spiritual and educational needs of each resident.

In addition to meeting all special dietary requirements, menu selections are extensive.
The Health Center Victoria Dining Room, with its private dining area, is just right for sharing mealtime with family and friends.
With Westminster Village Muncie's open visiting hours, friends and family of all ages are welcome, including children.
The on-site beauty/barber shops help keep residents looking their best.
The Village Mall is accessible to all residents in the Health Center.

Months after the passing of a resident of the Westminster Health Center, the staff received the following letter from his wife. She has asked us to share this with you:
"My husband, Ed Watts, was admitted to Westminster Village Skilled Care on April 27, 2007. Before that day, Ed and I were only visitors to the skilled care facilities in the Muncie area. Now we were in a different position; he was the patient, and we were the ones to be 'visited'.
There were many bright sides to being a patient in Westminster Skilled Care facility. Being a patient, Ed was their number one priority. He was very fortunate to have a large private room. The cleanliness, personal care, around-the-clock medical attention, and the excellent food made the experience that of a 5 star hotel. The many extras and personal touches given to the family are too many to mention.
I might add there were times of difficult behavior due to his illness. However, those difficult times were dealt with in the most professional and compassionate manner by all the staff. To have such a positive experience during a very hard time in my life was the most a wife could ever ask for. In Muncie, and all of the surrounding areas, I cannot imagine any other facility that would ever come close to being comparable to Westminster."
