Indiana Stay-At-Home Order FAQ

Governor Eric Holcomb delivered a statewide address Monday to order that Hoosiers remain in their homes except when they are at work or for permitted activities such as taking care of others, obtaining necessary supplies, and for health and safety.  The Stay-At-Home Order takes effect Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.  The Stay-At-Home Order applies to the entire state of Indiana.

Unless you work for an essential business or are doing an essential activity, you must stay home.  This order is mandatory for all Hoosiers to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  If this order is not followed, the Indiana State Police and local law enforcement will enforce this order.

Essential activities include but are not limited to activities for health and safety, necessary supplies and services, outdoor activity, certain types of essential work, and to take care of others.  Again, we strongly recommend that no one leave the building.  Please have a family member or friend deliver necessary supplies to the front desk for your pickup.  If you have no one who can help you with getting your necessary supplies, please contact the Activities Department for assistance as we have grocery pick-up services available every Tuesday.

Nonessential medical care such as eye exams and teeth cleaning should be postponed.  When possible, health care visits should be done remotely.  Contact your health care provider to see what telehealth services they provide.

You are allowed to walk outside on our Mike Dobbs Nature Trail around the building.  Practice social distancing while out on walks, maintaining at least six feet from other people.

You may do your laundry in the launderettes on second floor.

You may pick up your meals on a take-out basis to be eaten in your apartment.  Again, we stress the importance of social distancing of at least six feet.

Due to the increased amount of trash, Westminster Village Housekeeping will provide you with extra trash bags during this time.  Please continue to follow the proper trash disposal procedures with your sealed (tied up) trash.
